Pro Wrestling Sheet‘s Ryan Satin is reporting Roman Reigns issued the following statement following Richard Rodriguez’s claims that Reigns was a former client:

“I have never heard of Richard Rodriguez or Wellness Fitness Nutrition. I learned from the mistake I made nearly two years ago and paid the penalty for it. Since then, I’ve passed 11 tests as part of WWE’s independent drug testing program.”

Roman Reigns Named As Alleged Client By Accused Steroid Dealer

Rodriguez is the former Iron Addicts Gym owner in Miami that was arrested last February in a DEA raid, and was accused of operating an international steroid distribution ring.

Reigns was suspended by WWE for violating the company’s Wellness Policy in 2016, but that was reportedly due to taking Adderall, although WWE did not publicly confirm that as why Reigns received his first Wellness Policy test violation.

  • Braun Strowman Rehired By Stephanie McMahon; Strowman Celebrates By Attacking Michael Cole On WWE RAW (Video) 0 CommentsPosted by Ramona Shelburne on January 16, 2018 under Wrestling

Well, that didn’t last long. Braun Strowman was fired, then rehired on WWE RAW tonight, but he made sure Michael Cole got those hands after Kurt Angle made the announcement.

Stephanie overturned Kurt Angle’s decision to fire Strowman, which came after Strowman beat up security guards and terrorized the production crew, and tipped over a truck. Angle tried to stop him, but Braun was relentless, destroying things as he came back into the arena. Braun grabbed Cole by the shirt and dragged him to the end of the stage, but Angle announced Stephanie had called and rehired him, and the Rumble title match was still a triple threat. Braun let Cole go, but ended up throwing him off the stage and onto the security guards as the segment ended.

It was announced that Tom Phillips would fill in for Cole on commentary in the interim.

In an odd twist, WWE has taken advantage of Finn Balor’s ‘over’ jabs on social media by using them in a t-shirt design. Balor is currently preparing for the Royal Rumble match, and as a side note, The Demon is now the 5th favourite to win the bout with Irish bookmaker Paddy Power.

The Young Bucks Take A Shot At Josh Barnett

The Young Bucks have caused some noise on Twitter by taking a shot at former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett, insinuating that he buries their matches on commentary. Barnett, who actually wrestled for NJPW around 15 years ago, has been criticised by some fans for his play-by-play work alongside Jim Ross on AXS TV.

One helluva match. Can’t wait to hear UFC guy bury it on commentary! https://t.co/5MMytGpLV9

    — The Young Bucks (@NickJacksonYB) January 12, 2018

Both me and JR called it straight up (like we always do) and try to put over the workers as much as possible. We always try to express the heel/face dynamics and also make the matches seem as legitimate as we can so that the wrestlers look strong. My bad I guess. ????

    Royal Rumble

WWE.com posted the following preview for the WWE Championship match at this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view after it was announced on WWE Smackdown Live last night:

There is certainly a line between honor and hubris, and WWE Champion AJ Styles is straddling it. After losing non-title singles matches to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn on the Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 editions of SmackDown LIVE, respectively, thanks in large part due to interference in both bouts, The Phenomenal One took drastic action, and, in a moment of frustration, challenged his foes to a 2-on-1 Handicap Match!

SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan thought it was a brilliant idea, not only making the Handicap Match official, but announcing that the WWE Title Match would happen at Royal Rumble, much to the shock of all parties involved, including SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon.

Will Styles add to his incredible legacy by overcoming such a daunting challenge to retain the WWE Title at Royal Rumble? Or will Owens & Zayn continue to run roughshod over Team Blue by benefitting from their numbers advantage and add the WWE Championship to their arsenal?

Find out at Royal Rumble, streaming live on WWE Network on Sunday, Jan. 28, at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT.
