OAKLAND, Calif. — A federal judge in California has ruled that an Oakland police officer who covered his nameplate during a November Occupy protest seriously violated court-approved conduct standards for the city’s police department.
U.S. District Judge Thelton Henderson issued the ruling against officer John Hargraves and Oakland police Lt. Clifford Wong. Wong was accused of failing to report Hargraves’ actions to the department’s internal affairs unit.

Hudson, who finished with 12 points, hit a baby hook with 1:11 to go to give Virginia Tech a 44-41 lead. After a jumper by Jontel Evans pulled Virginia within a point, Hudson hit a 3-pointer from the left corner with 16.5 seconds left for the Hokies (12-7, 1-4 Atlantic Coast Conference).

S.C. Primary: Mitt Romney Hands Out Panera Treats
Britney Spears was awarded the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, the VMA’s lifetime achievement award, at the show Sunday night, but you wouldn’t know it from watching. The vision behind and delivery of Britney’s big tribute was so poorly conceived, it was a surreal thing to witness.
To begin, we have Lady Gaga’s alter ego, Jo Calderone, overstaying his welcome to introduce a musical homage to Britney’s hits.
What we get is barely more than a minute run-through of a few of her songs, performed as if they’re on speed, and ending inappropriately (and perhaps appropriately reflecting reality) with a group of oversexualized little girls dressed in a collection of classic Britney get-ups.
